I still think Amazon advertising is one of the best ways to get traffic to your book, but I stand by my opinion that their tracking leaves much to be desired.

To download the advertising report, you go to the top left and click on reports.
And if you can download a search term report, you’ll see so much interesting information.
You can see all of the keywords that received clicks for the time period (up to 60 days).
Every keyword that got a click, and every time someone clicked through from an auto-targeted ad, you can see what the exact search term was.
And any time someone clicks from a category ad, you can see what the Amazon ASIN or ISBN is for that book.
This advertising report gives you gold you can’t get anywhere else.
And you can use that information as a clue to figure out the next ad to run, and what keywords are worth trying.
So, make sure to download your ad report every single month to get the best feature of the platform to work for you.
